Montreal window glass repair — cracked or broken

Cracked, shattered glass does not mean a whole new window — usually the frame and sash are sound and only the pane has to go. We measure the opening and re-glaze it with matched glass: clear, tempered safety glass, Low-E, single- or double-pane, sealed and warranted.

  • Every opening measured on-site
  • Full air-seal on every unit
  • Written frame + sealed-glass warranty
Window glass repair in Montreal — cracked pane re-glazed with matched glass

Why it matters

Just the glass, not the window

A cracked pane or broken sealed unit rarely means a whole new window. In most cases the frame and sash are sound and only the glass has to go, so we measure the opening, order glass to match your window type and glazing, and re-glaze just the pane — keeping your frame and saving the cost of a full window.

That covers a single cracked lite, a shattered pane after an impact, tempered or safety glass where code requires it, and single- or double-pane units alike.

If your glass is fogged rather than cracked, see foggy sealed unit repair; if it is smashed and open to the weather, our emergency glass boarding secures it fast, and you can book a free estimate any time.

What you get

Matched glass, sealed and warranted

We source glass to match your window's type and glazing — clear, tempered, Low-E, obscure or triple-pane — so the repaired pane performs and looks like the rest, then seal it against water and air. A glass repair should be invisible once it is done, and that is the standard we hold.

Everything is measured and quoted up front, with no surprises, and the work is backed by warranty. Need more than glass? Our window sash repair squares a dropped sash, hardware repair fixes cranks and locks, and full window replacement is there when a frame is past saving.

Common questions

Montreal window glass repair, answered

Glass-only fixes, timing and what happens if the frame is damaged.

In most cases, yes — we replace the damaged pane or sealed unit and keep your existing frame and sash, which costs far less than a new window. As long as the frame is sound, there is no reason to replace the whole thing over broken or cracked glass. We match the new glass to your window's type and glazing so it performs and looks right, and seal it in properly. The main exceptions are a frame that is also damaged or a specialty glass that is hard to source, and we will tell you up front if either applies.
It is a two-step job: we measure first, order the matching glass, and then install it once it arrives, so the total time depends on the glass type and size. Standard clear or tempered glass in a common size comes in quickly; Low-E, triple-pane, obscure or oversized units take a bit longer to source. If the break is a security or weather risk in the meantime, we can board up the opening first to keep your home safe and dry, then complete the glass install when the unit is ready. We give you the timeline at the quote.
Then we will show you the repair-versus-replace numbers so you can decide with the full picture. If the frame or sash is rotted, warped or broken, replacing only the glass would leave the real problem in place, so in that case a new window is often the better spend. But if the frame is fundamentally sound and just needs minor attention, we can sometimes address both. We assess the whole window, not just the glass, before quoting, and we will be straight about which path actually makes sense for yours.
Yes — we source clear, tempered, Low-E, obscure and other specialty glass to match your window, including safety glass where code requires it.
If the break is a security or weather risk, yes — we can board it up first to keep the home safe and dry until the glass arrives.

Cracked pane from a stray ball. They matched the glass to the rest and you cannot tell it was ever broken.
